The best falafels ever. First time I had them was in the early 1980s as a kid. I have compared all others to them. It wasn’t until 2023 that I had a chance to return to Boulder. We returned again this year and both times the food and service were outstanding.
Incredible place!! They serve authentic food and coffee, ingredients are personally sourced from the Middle East by the owner who regularly travels there. The hummus is made with high quality Lebanese tahini, and you can tell the difference in the flavor, which is so much more rich and nuanced. I also highly recommend the baba ghanoush, which has the depth of the smoke flavor from the blackened eggplant. We were a large group and the owner spent time with each of us personally, including creating a customized plate, to get the people in our group what we were looking for. He also greeted us personally later to check on the quality of the food, he spent a fair bit of his time chatting with us, and even showed us the ingredients. He was beyond generous with us, and even gave us a plate of hummus freshly made for free with really high quality ingredients directly from the Middle East, and the flavor is outstanding. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is really well decorated with pictures from Jordan and Tel Aviv and some things from Iran. You must come here if you want authentic food, the quality of the food and hospitality is above and beyond.
Oh my I love this place. The gyro meat off of the spit is so good. The hummus and baba ganoush are amazing. My only complaint is there isn't another Falafel King closer to Arvada or in Denver! The owner said he doesn't want to come to Arvada but that's ok, a trip up to Boulder every so often ain't so bad 🙂
Had a great lunch. Falafels are awesome as are the sides (highly recommend eggplant, hummus, Baba ghanoush, and tomato dish). The tea and fresh made lemonade with mint--yum! And a very kind person taking our orders. Worth the visit on Pearl Street!
Been to Los Angeles, Denver' Colorado Springs, and tried falafel pita, my favorite sandwich. And this Falafel King on Pearl, is STILL THE BEST!! Been coming since 2008. If you are a Vegetarian this is the place! I also highly recommend their homemade drinks. Today I had the mint lemonade 😋 Service is fast and quality. I would recommend a casual date here! Good food means happy times. They always have good air flow. And vibrant music. Upbeat and welcoming. With people watching on Pearl Street, or a private room in the back with ample seating. 😉
I've been coming here for years. It seems as though the owner works there everyday. It shows in the food's quality. It's consistently good food. Their falafel recipe is unique and is always perfectly cooked.
It was my first time visiting Boulder when I wandered in for lunch and was blown away by the hospitality and kindness of the owner and the entire staff. Avner let me taste several options before deciding on the gyro beef and lamb, baba ganoush and salad. The food is stellar but it’s the warmth of the people that will endure. I will visit again on my next work trip.! Avner, awesome to meet you and I can’t wait to bring my husband in with me next time! :)
